Expedia Inc's offices at 701 Brickell

Expedia.com and Hotwire.com have moved into new office space in Miami at 701 Brickell Avenue.

The 19,000-square-foot office houses Expedia Inc.'s nearly 100 staffers, the company told The Real Deal. The office supports the United States and Latin American markets. In addition to Expedia.com and Hotwire.com, Expedia Inc. owns such brands as Hotels.com, trivago, Travelocity and Orbitz.

The lease at the 34-story 701 Brickell tower was executed in July of 2015, Expedia said. Since then, the architecture and design firm Gensler has re-designed the space. Gensler's other South Florida projects include the future Paseo de la Riviera, a mixed-use property planned for Coral Gables and Atria at Villages of Windsor, a senior housing rental community planned for Lake Worth.

Expedia.com and Hotwire.com's offices feature conference rooms named after popular South Florida and Caribbean areas such as Bimini and Key West, as well as popular cocktails like the Miami Vice, Expedia said.

Built in 1986, 701 Brickell is also home to such tenants as Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and Holland & Knight. The building is owned by Teachers Insurance. JLL handles leasing.

Loopnet shows asking rents for available space in the building range from $40 per square foot to $56 per square foot per year.
