South Florida’s Paragon Group, known for its Miami condo and townhouse projects, just announced it plans to build new medical offices in South Miami.
The development firm has partnered with Oxford Universal Design & Build, a Miami real estate company, to build a 62,000-square-foot office building at 6201 Sunset Drive. Plans include 300 parking spaces, plus an allotment of square footage for retail space.
According to the developers’ announcement, the building could house medical tenants ranging from primary and urgent care clinics to surgical centers and pharmacies.
“Leasing has already commenced December of 2015 and the initial feedback has been terrific ,” Luis Gonzalez, Paragon’s president, said in the announcement. “What’s great about leasing while the building is being designed is that we can provide our tenants with the opportunity to design the unique features of their individual space within the building’s footprint.”
Paragon and Oxford expect to begin construction in the second quarter of 2016, with an opening date set in late 2017.
In July 2015, the two paid $8.8 million for the half-acre site where they plan to build the offices.
Paragon is also partnering with Oxford to develop Grove Place, an 18-unit townhouse project on the northern border of Coconut Grove that launched sales in late 2015. On top of those projects, Paragon is developing two South Florida condo projects: Cassa Brickell, and Cassa Georgetown in Lauderhill. — Sean Stewart-Muniz
