Seminole County plans to acquire a closed golf course and reopen it as a public park. The county is negotiating with the owners to purchase the closed course at the old Rolling Hills Golf Club, which covers nearly 100 acres, together with a clubhouse and swimming pool.

A county-commissioned appraisal put a market value of $6.1 million on the property, located just north of the Altamonte Mall in Altamonte Springs. The owners bought the defunct golf course intending to build homes there, but they suspended the residential redevelopment in the face of opposition from owners of nearby homes.
