The CCA Florida STAR Tournament presented by Yamaha has heard their over 5,000 anglers loud and clear and they are making BIG changes to create even more excitement and ensure someone goes home with a top prize in addition to the over $200,000 in other division prizes that will be awarded at the end of the 2016 competition.
First of the changes is any registered adult angler who catches a 2016 winning STAR Tagged Redfish will take home their CHOICE of any remaining tagged redfish prizes which are a Conley Buick GMC Sierra pick-up truck, a Contender 22 Sport with 250hp Yamaha sitting on a Rolls Axle trailer, a Pathfinder 2200TRS decked out with MinnKota 112 RipTide trolling motor, Humminbird Helix 10, 8ft Power Pole Shallow water anchor, 150hp Yamaha and trailer, a Hells Bay Waterman with 70hp Yamaha and trailer or the Sea Hunt Escape 235 with 200hp Yamaha and trailer.
And if that's not enough… At the end of the tournament, any registered adult angler who has submitted a verified catch in any division (excluding the conservation and guide divisions) will be placed into a winner's CHOICE drawing for one of the remaining STAR Tagged Redfish prizes.
Anglers have 20 plus days to get registered, go fishing and think about which one of these prizes if available, they would choose?
STAR is a nonprofit tournament focused on attracting people to Florida's outstanding saltwater resources. It gets families on the water and helps educate anglers to CCA's mission which is the conservation and protection of our coastal resources. 2016 STAR entry fee is only $35.00 for CCA members, $65.00 for non-members which includes a CCA membership and Youth entry is FREE with New Tide Membership. Anglers should make sure when they take their friends and family fishing the rest of this summer they make it more fun by registering everyone for STAR. Someone WILL win a new truck, boat, motor and trailer package, a valuable scholarship or one of the many other great prizes. All winners will be awarded their prizes at the STAR Awards Banquet presented by The City of Haines City on October 15, at the Lake Eva Event Center in Haines City. The Awards banquet is open to the public, ticket price include the awards ceremony, concert by Nashville artist Brandon Lay(one of CMA's must see artists), special guest appearances by captains from Chevy Florida Insider Fishing Report, Flats Class TV Captain C.A. Richardson & Captain Mike Anderson of The Reel Animals Fishing Show plus steak dinner, open bar with raffles and auction.
